We will be having a Box Top contest each six weeks. The student who brings the most Box Tops each six weeks will win a prize. Please put your Box Tops in an envelope or baggie, write your name on it, and bring it to Mrs. Hembree or Mrs. Clark in the library.

Discipline Techniques

The following discipline management techniques may be used – alone or in combination – for behavior prohibited by the Student Code of Conduct or by campus or classroom rules. Discipline management techniques used upon the student’s arrival to the principal’s office.

? Verbal or written correction
? Parent phone or face to face conference
? Cooling-off time or “time out”
? Temporary assignment to another classroom
? Lunch detention
? Temporary confiscation of items that disrupted the educational process
? “Discipline Notice” sent home to be signed and returned
? Behavioral contracts
? In-school suspension – ISS
? Character pack to be completed in ISS
? Withdrawal of privileges (recess, pep rally, field trip, etc.)
? Corporal punishment
? Out of school suspension
? Other strategies and consequences as determines by school officials


? In all situations student are encouraged to take responsibility for their own behavior and to repair harm or damaged inflicted


Discipline strategies will be correlated with the seriousness of the offense, the student’s age and grade level, student’s possible IEP, the frequency of the misbehavior, the student’s attitude, the effect of the misconduct of the school environment, statutory requirements.

Because of the factors, discipline for a particular offense (unless otherwise specified by law) may bring into consideration varying techniques and responses.
