AthleticsDue to injuries and academic failures, Anton will not be able to finish our 11-man district schedule. We have, however, added several 6-man games to our schedule.
The girls cross country team won the Olton Meet Sept 26th. The team heads to Abernathy October 17th to compete. Jr High and HS will conpete at district on October 28th.
Student CouncilStudent Council recently participated in the Walk for Diabetes. The StuCo member walked with the elementary students to raise money. $100 was donated to the American Diabetes foundation. October is breast cancer awareness month and the StuCo is selling t-shirts to its members with the proceeds being donated to the Susan B. Koman foundation. Student Council has also donated $100 to the Rexee Jackson Memorial fund.
FCCLA
FCCLA officers are attending a workshop in Austin October 11th-12th. Examples of sessions to be attended include Alcohol Poisoning, Above and Beyond our Earth, Childhood Obesity, Stop the Violence and Financial Fitness. Also, members need to remember to pay their dues by October 26th.
Cooking with the Teachers
Our recipes for the week comes from Leigh Ann Dutton.
Spicy Crackers1 3/4 cup canola oil
2 pkg of dry Ranch dressing/dip mix
1 box of Saltines (4 sleeves)
Mix ingredients togehter and drizzle over crackers and let set. Store in container with a lid.
Corn Dip3 lbs. sour cream
1 lrg. white onion (finely chopped)
2-3 jalapenos (finely chopped)
1 Tbs. (heaping) mayonnaise
2-3 cups grated cheddar cheese
3 cans shoe peg corn (drained)
Salt and pepper to taste
BandThe Marching Bulldog Band will be competing in the Lubbock Marching Festival on Saturday, Oct. 10th. Saturday, Oct 17th is the UIL Marching Contest at Lowery Field in Lubbock. The band will perform at 2:30pm. Please come out and support your Bulldog Band.
