English I analyzed "I Have a Dream" for persuasive writing techniques in collaborative groups. Algebra I learned how to identify zeros of a function three ways--graphically, algebraically, and with the use of a calculator. Great things are happening at AHS!

It's a busy day at AHS! Dr. Reed is hosting our 2nd Annual Parking Lot Build. We have 13 teams building grills in the front parking lot. If you have time, swing by and check out their projects! We should wrap up within the next hour or two.
At 2:45, we will have a pep rally in the HS Gym.

We are proud to recognize our Secondary Students of the 1st 6 Weeks, Taylor Cortez (JH) and Rylee Tubbs (HS)! Here are a few things their nominating teachers said: "Rylee & Taylor have really stepped up in band. Their efforts are being shown by their progress in my class. They are more outgoing and becoming leaders in their own right. I am very proud of the young ladies they are becoming!" "Rylee is always prepared for class and shows up to work. She also tries to help others when in need." "Taylor is a good student that works hard in class and is an exemplary citizen at Anton ISD." Way to go, girls! Keep up the great work!

Our 2nd Annual AHS Dallas Mavericks Trip is happening! We have tentatively booked December 3rd as our Leadership Day, and I wanted to share this information as soon as possible, because the things your students do TODAY and each day leading up to the event will impact their ability to qualify! Because we want as many students as possible to have this experience, we will be taking a new group of 12 high school students this year. See the infographic for more details. Are you ready for next week?! Be sure to check out all the attached info so you don't miss anything! Outside of Homecoming activities, Secondary (6-12) has a very busy Wednesday! We will kick the day off with See You at the Pole at 7:30 AM for a time of fellowship and prayer. Breakfast burritos will be provided by our local churches for students who participate. Then, at 9:45, students that qualified will load up for our Mystery Trip. We will return at the end of the school day. Permission slips & $10 due by TUESDAY, 9/23. Contact Mrs. Johnson for questions.
